Today is March 12, 2012 and I'm making a brand new commitment to myself to get down my ideal weight which is 137.
What's different about this time is that I'm doing 5 things every day to bring me closer to my goal which is April 12, 2013. That gives me 13 months to complete my goal and currently I weigh 230 pounds according to my bathroom scale and the Wii says that I weigh 223.5 pounds. I will weigh myself on both devices. I like using the Wii because it keeps track of my progress.
So what are the 5 things I plan to do today to get me moving towards my goal? They are:
1.) 10,000 steps 6 days a week. I'm not limited to just 10,000 steps; I can do more but I can't do less within a six day period. Today I will use my pedometer to keep count. Weather permitting I will walk at lunch time for 30 minutes. If the weather doesn't permit walking outside, I will visit the gym and do 30 minutes of cardio on a elliptical machine.
2.) Drink 3 quarts of water every day; 7 days a week.
3.) For the next 30 days do a paraliminal or hypnosis as it's sometimes referred to on the "Ideal Weight" to get my subconscious working also.
4.) Eat 1300-1600 calories each day for the next 30 days. In order to have 1600 calories I must do the 10,000 steps. If I do not do the 10,000, I have to limit my intake to 1300. For the next 30 days I will have 2 Lean Cuisine meals; one for lunch and one for dinner to help me with the portion size of my meals. If I'm not using the Lean Cuisine, I will measure out my food so I can keep accurate account of what I've eaten. I will also keep a food journal.
5.) I will work out on the Wii for the next 30 days doing the step routine in the morning and if weather conditions don't permit a walk in the evening, I will do another step routine on the Wii.
This is my breakthrough goal. To succeed at this goal would be phenomenal as I've been working on this goal for YEARS. To succeed at this goal would be a boost to my moral and my confidence. To succeed at this goal would bring a different lifestyle as it would get me closer to hiking either the Appalachian Trail or the Pacific Crest Trail.
